At Neighborhood Acupuncture and Healing Arts we offer a caring professional environment to help you on your journey to a healthier, happier you. Our 10 week weight management course utilizes time tested, safe, natural means to help you lose weight and maintain a healthy life style.
Like any sustainable weight loss plan a multi pronged approach works best. We use Acupuncture, Yoga, Dietary Counseling and Herbs as healthy long-term approaches to weight loss.
Our weight management course is not one size fits all. Our acupuncturists will create a unique course of treatment for every individual, utilizing Herbs and Nutritional Counseling in conjunction with Acupuncture, getting to the root cause of their weight gain. Recognizing everyone’s specific needs and treating them accordingly helps create a long term plan they can commitment to, helping to avoid the pit-falls of yo-yo dieting or the tendency to lose weight and then regain it.
Other important tools that can aid in weight loss are stress reduction techniques and a moderate exercise routine; this is where Yoga comes in. We offer several low impact classes as a great entry point for those new to Yoga. Our classes are taught by compassionate, knowledgeable teachers who offer fun, effective classes in a safe environment. And since the goal of our weight program is not only weight loss but the maintenance of that loss, an exercise program that the patient enjoys is the best one to choose.
We recognize losing weight can be a challenge and a medical condition may be the underlying problem. Weight gain due to fat, water or salt retention is a symptom of some health disorders and a side effect of certain medications. Some illnesses can decrease metabolism or increase the appetite for carbohydrates, causing weight gain. The medical condition must be treated before the weight gain can be addressed.
