Get Moving with a Shiatsu Massage

Get Moving with a Shiatsu Massage

-by Melissa Collins LMT

Spring is a time for movement, growth, and clearing out winter. A Shiatsu massage nl29with a spring detox focus can inspire clarity, renew energy, and give direction.

Shiatsu is the Japanese word for “finger pressure” Shiatsu uses hand pressure and soft tissue manipulation to adjust the body’s physical structure and natural inner energies.  Shiatsu techniques include the practioner stretching, holding, and leaning body weight into various points along the meridian channels. These techniques help to move Ki (energy) through along these channels of the body, driving away slugishness.

The value of shiatsu is unique to the individual; however, benefits may include: increased range of motion, decreased pain, improved organ function, emotional balance and profound relaxation. Experiencing Shiatsu can be a catalyst and a support for making lifestyle changes needed for the spring season, much like the blossoming of the spring flowers.
